Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is physical Therapy safe to receive during the COvid-19 pandemic?
Every activity has associated levels of risk. Physical therapy by nature involves direct face to face treatment which has risk associated with it. What the Zooz WEllness model allows for, is reduced risk of exposure when compared with going to a clinic. What we are doing is limiting your contact and exposure to other patients who would be in a clinic.
We require our therapists to wear a face mask, face shield, and gloves. They will bring the necessary equipment such as massage table with clean sheets, cupping tools, soft tissue tools, resistance bands and light weights. All equipment will be sprayed down and cleaned with disinfectant or sanitizing wipes.
Treatment will occur if possible outside or in a persons home if they are comfortable with the therapist entering their home. Clients are required to wear a mask as well to ensure a safe an environment at possible.
the option that is the safest and lowest risk is a telehealth session where there is no direct face to face contact. ZOOZ wellness wants to provide options for clients but understands that people have different levels of comfort when it comes to risk.
Q: How long is each appointment ?
Appointment vary in length and are listed in the book an appointment page of the website
Q: How many sessions will I need to get better?
Every person is different but our model of care typically requires fewer visits because we are dedicating the full amount of time with you and not jumping back and forth between other patients. In other clinics the therapist will spend 10-15 minutes with a patient. Here you will be in the care of the PT for the full 45 minutes. Thats like getting 3 sessions for the price of one. As a result of this ,the quality of treatment is higher and that usually means that you require fewer sessions to achieve your goals.
Q: What do I wear to PT?
Physical therapy requires moving and evaluating movement. It is important to wear clothing that allows you to move unrestricted. Gym appropriate attire is usually recommended. Additionally clothing that can be removed and still allow access to certain areas of the body maybe beneficial. (I.e. a tank top when evaluating the shoulder, or a halter top or sports bra when evaluating a persons back, Shorts When evaluating a knee etc.)
Q: Do you accept insurance?
Currently we are working on credentialing with Medicare. We do not accept any other insurances but we will happily provide you with documentation that you the client can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. If you have out of network benefits with your policy you will likely be able to collect reimbursement from your insurance company.
Q: Why should I pay cash for services that my insurance pays for?
Like anything in life there are good services and there are bad services, there are good doctors and bad doctors, good cooks and bad cooks. We believe that we are providing a service that far exceeds the standard of care that most people get in a standard PT clinic. Therefore we believe the value we provide is worth paying out of pocket for. An investment in your health is a worthwhile investment. We pride ourselves on teaching our patients how to take care of themselves. The old addage of give a person a fish and they eat for a day but teach a person to fish and they eat for a lifetime. At ZOOZ we are teaching you how to take care of yourself for your lifetime and ultimately you are investing in your education. the knowledge you come away with will allow you to feel better for longer, and this is worth paying for.
